Legacy Conversion: Landoll System Migration

Landoll is a Marysville, Kansas, company established in 1963 by Don Landoll. Landoll Corporation is an industry leader in custom-fabricated trailers.

Problem: Landoll had a legacy server that had become obsolete and was becoming increasing difficult to maintain. Compounding these problems was the fact that the server contained valuable data that was still being used across entire departments of the company.

Solution: Stasyx protected the existing investment by devising a way to extract the valuable data on the server and convert it to a form that could be read by modern databases. Before the old server died completely, Stasyx created an inexpensive interface that allowed Landoll’s employees to access the server’s data in a manner that was more intuitive than the interface from the old server.

Result:Landoll’s end users now process their data in a user-friendly interface, and their IT department is no longer pouring precious resources into an old outdated server. Instead, the server's been confined to the recycling bin.

Lynn Ronnebaum from Landoll credits Stasyx with saving their data in an expert and timely manner.

"Stasyx came to the rescue converting an antiquated SCO-Unix database that resided on a defective server into a modern application. Stasyx proved to be a very good resource with a very knowledgeable staff." — Lynn Ronnebaum, CEIS Manager, Landoll Corporation
